Good Samaritan Community Outreach

The Forest Hill Good Samaritan Community Outreach Program plays an important role in our broader efforts to improve our community and our understanding of the communities we serve and the trials and struggles they face on a daily basis. We invite you to learn more about our program while we strive to develop strong community partnerships.

Sharing Is Caring

Sharing God's blessings with others in need is a wonderful way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Annually, we provide turkeys and food baskets for those who otherwise might not be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

If you would like to receive a Thanksgiving Basket please contact us in person or via email as early as possible since it is first come first served as we have a limited amont of resources available.

If you would like to be a blessing to our ministry in the form of a turkey , trimmings or finances, please contact us that we may schedule a pick up. We appteciate any and all support.

Whether you would like to receive a Thanksgiving Turkey with all the trimmings,  donate or help in Teenage years are a critical time when boys make choices that affect the rest of their lives. We offer boys a safe place where they can talk about what is really going on in their lives, and a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them and help them make better choices.other way, there's plenty of opportunity!

Help A Child And A Smile Will Follow

We all know someone – a friend, family member or neighbor – who has been affected by the economy, but you may not realize that nearly 1 out of 2 students in our community come from families with incomes low enough to qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of these children and their families cannot afford to purchase the school supplies they need each year.

Children who go to school without basic supplies often struggle to perform at the same level as their peers. Students who start a new school year with the necessary supplies, however, can go to class prepared and ready to learn. Every child should have the basics, like pencils, folders, and paper, and our goal is to make that happen.

Vacation Bible School, or VBS, is a fun-filled program many churches offer, usually during the summer (“vacation”) months, to connect with the children and families in their communities. Vacation Bible School is an outreach meant to bring in children who don’t normally attend church and to teach them the gospel. As an evangelistic tool, VBS helps churches fulfill theGreat Commission(Matthew 28:19).

Vacation Bible School began in the 1890s. A New York doctor’s wife wanted to find a way to keep children off the streets in the summertime, and so she rented a large beer hall in the East Side in order to conduct what she called “Everyday Bible School.” Her idea expanded, and eventually the New York City Baptist Mission Society established several of these Bible schools around the city.

Today, Vacation Bible School is a popular summer activity for Christians and non-Christians alike.

I.B.I.Y. (I Believe In Y ou)

"I Believe In You" Boys-To-Men Mentoring Group focuses on at-risk youth ages 6-16 in the greater Fort Worth and Forest Hill communities.

Our goal is simple. To turn these young boys into men. Our program was created to give young men constant positive male role models, effective relationships, community involvement, interactive teachers, open communication, love and a nurturing environment in an effort to develop productive members of society.

Adolescent and teen years are a critical time when boys make choices that affect the rest of their lives. We offer boys a safe place where they can talk about what is really going on in their lives, and a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them and help them make better choices.
