Anytime a person, or thing does not grow, something is wrong.  Although some growth cannot be seen with your visible eyes, growth goes on nevertheless.  If the right environment is present, growth is expected.  In the natural, when a person has a child, and the child does not do certain things by a certain time, the parent becomes very concerned.  There are certain stages of growth for every human being, especially children.

It is important that children receive the right type of food and drink as well as rest and play to grow correctly during their growth stages.  These years are called formative tears.  It is a time when many things are formed or being formed in the mind, spirit ad the body, so it is with spiritual growth.  You cannot eat junk foods and expect to grow strong bones and teeth as a child.  neither cab you joke, gossip, lie, cheat, and steal and think that your spiritual life will produce correct growth.  It is the will of God that each believer will grow in grace and in the knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus told his disciples to take His yoke upon them and learn of Him.  It is vital that correct Christian growth is encouraged during the formative years,  as in the case of a child, or serious damage can result later in life.
